Client Services Coordinator Position

Type:  35 hours/week, permanent full-time; some evenings and weekends may be required

Job Purpose

The Client Services Coordinator provides direct services to clients, including assessing client needs, providing information and support, making appropriate referrals and coordinating the delivery of the organization’s support programs and services.  The Client Service Coordinator will also provide information and support to clients, including those newly diagnosed with epilepsy, in a medical setting. 

Reporting to

Executive Director

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Offer programs and services to individuals, families, and groups who access the organization
  • Provide information, referrals, advocacy, and support to clients (non-medical, supportive counseling), including those newly diagnosed with epilepsy
  • Facilitate support groups
  • Provide supports at the Epilepsy Clinic as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Maintain files and statistics on clients and services being offered
  • Assist in evaluation activities of the program and the organization
  • Represent the agency in the community
  • Maintain an awareness of the resources and services available in the community
  • Maintain up to date knowledge on current research and treatments for epilepsy

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in social work/health/human services with 3 years’ experience
  • Registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
  • Experience and skills in providing one-to-one and family supportive counseling and in group facilitation is essential
  • Knowledge of epilepsy and its impact on individuals and families
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to multi-task
  • Must be a team player but also have the ability to work independently
  • Must have a vehicle as travel will be required
  • Sound computer skills with previous experience using MS Office are required
  • Satisfactory CPIC
